Accountant I

OVERALL PURPOSE:

Provide financial information to management and analyze the financial performance to ensure they have the data needed to make timely, sound business decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Interpret, communicate, and provide financial results to Management personnel
• Assist Business Manager with monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
• Serve as a financial resource to research, analyze, and answer questions
• Responsible for monthly accruals and close procedures
• Other special projects as requested by Group President or Business Manager
• Monthly reconciliation of office working fund
• Vehicle Allowance Program Coordinator

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 years of accounting and/or financial planning experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems (especially Excel & Word)
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent analytical skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA
• Coal industry experience
• Working knowledge of Oracle & Ellipse
